a) A takeout double requests partner to declare in his longest unbid suit

b) A takeout double shows a 13+ HCP opening hand with shortness in the opponents' suit and support for the unbid suits, especially the majors

c) The more suitable hands for a takeout double are 5-4-4-0, 4-4-4-1 or 5-4-3-1 distributional hands with a singleton or a void in the opponents' suit

d) A double is not for takeout when made after any positive bid by partner ( an opening bid or an overcall or a takeout double)
