a) Distributional points (DT) are added to highcard points (HCP) to obtain the total point-count of a hand (TP)
|
b) Distributional points are calculated from long suits or from short suits
Long-suit distributional points
5-card suit = 1 6-card suit = 2 7-card or more suit = 3
Short-suit distributional points
void = 3 singleton = 2 doubleton = 1
|
c) A fit is reached (or a suit is agreed as trumps) when the bidding shows eight cards or more in the same suit between the partnership
|
d) Long-suit points and short-suit points must never be cumulated when evaluating your hand
Long-suit points are added to highcard points before your partnership has reached a fit
Short-suit points (instead of long-suit points) are added to highcard points after your partnership has reached a fit
