LESSON 30.5: DEDUCTIONS FROM AN OPPONENT'S LEAD

a) An opponent's lead in the first suit bid by dummy often shows a long or a short suit (singleton or doubleton)

b) Reasons for not leading partner's suit
    - when holding the ace

    - when expecting a ruff in another suit

    - when holding a very solid honor sequence in another suit
c) After leading high from x x x, play the middle card; the lower card shows a doubleton or a four-card suit
